A family medicine physician takes care of families. Family practice doctors receive three years of training in adult medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology.

Internal Medicine

Primary care physicians are specially trained in preventive medicine and treatment of chronic diseases. They help you make the right health choices to keep you and your family healthy.

An internal medicine physician, also called an internist, has completed residency training in Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine focuses on the health care needs of adults ages 18 and over. They have diagnosed and treated a wide variety of medical diseases that may affect you now and as you grown older.

Specialists

Specialists are physicians who have completed advanced education and clinical training in a specific area of medicine (their specialty area). A physician specialist may be needed for a complex medical issue or when extended treatment for a medical condition is needed. A specialist will work in conjunction with your primary physician to ensure you receive consistent care.
